Do you think marriage is still needed in today's society? Why/why not?

i dont think marriage is needed but its nice to have someone you could grow as a person with and share a life with. People are so much more independent nowadays i dont think there is a need for marriage. Its nice to feel secure though with the one you love. however nowadays people don't even care about that they just mostly care about themselves and make themselves happy and no one can get in their way and if they feel like someone is then thats when problems start and divroce time come. It would be nice though to live on your own but i would get lonely.

Do you see marriage in your future? Why/why not?

i dont see marriage in the future marriage, marriage is so overly rated, people are so independent and get annoyed easily and dont need an extra "baggage" as they call it. The divorce rate is going higher and higher. People just dont seem to want a marriage anymore they would live with each other rather then get married, i guess people dont want to go through the paper work an all that, or if they get a divorce they dont have to worry about paying for it. Its a hassle to many people. i see marriage in America fading more then other countries.

Who did you choose for your presentation and why did you choose her?

Maya Angelou is hailed as one of the great voices of contemporary black literature and as a remarkable Renaissance woman. She began producing books after some notable friends, including author James Baldwin, heard her childhood stories. shes a great writer shes done so much, shes a remarkable women that has done so much in her life. she even came to Bergen community college. its really unbelievable shes started as a cocktail waitress and now shes successful writer. we choice her because she has a great story behind her success and she achieved much from starting out from the bottom.

Can women achieve balance of being perceived as both powerful and feminine in today's society, or are those images mutually exclusive?

in my opinion i feel that its more expected for women to be feminine and if they have that strong personality then its not that accepted. i see this everyday at my job when women come with their husbands and they boss their husbands around or they yell at them. its crazy but it happens and when it does it doesn't look nice. But i feel that single mothers do have to be both feminine and masculine because she has be both parents and its hard but yes it does happen. There are some women i know that masculine things such as fixing their car if it breaks down because they have no one else to come and do it and that's being both masculine and feminine.

Free choice :)

i was thinking about getting a kitten but thinking about all the responsablity makes me not to with my busy schedule school and work im never home plus me having to clean it is so nasty. But i do want company when i'm home i love cats to much, i was thinking about adopting one it also will teach my responsibility more too and ill a friend with me in my house. Not to sure still thinking about it. i was thinking about going to the shelter and adopting a kitten im afraid if i bring it home and its starts peeing i dont know what to do because im a clean freak. Anyway love this weather so glad the rain is over i was so sick of it. I cant wait till summer comes i want to go to Florida so bad. :)

women to be homosexual than for men

In my opinan i feel women are more accepted to be more bi-sexual than a man because men like to see women doing sexual things with other females i guess it turns them on. Man care so much about their man hood and try to do anything possible not to look gay, act gay, say something gay, order girly drinks, etc. Man always want to look macho and that they can do anything but when someone finds out their bi its like a step down in society i guess and people would start to think o because his bi then that means he isnt so much of a man. that my guess im not sure what the real reason is but im guessing it brings them down in a way in society its not looked up so much. Man still want to looked at as men even though their gay or bi. To me if someones gay that means they love a person for who they are not what sex they are, they love them as a person. Which is a positive thing not a negative thing. Being loved for who you are not what sex you are. :)

I cant wait till the summer comes, i just want to go lay on the beach the whole day with my Family and friends. Oh i watched that new movie last night Called Green Zone wasnt a great movie i feel asleep lol. I actually wish i never to go watch it, i would rather clean my apartment :) Anyway its Saturday!!!!! im so excited!!! The weekend is Finally here but the weather sucks. Its all good ill make my weekend go great! have gReat weekened everyone!!! :)

female sexuality in the media

The only positive Female in the media i can think of if Julia Roberts because the way she carries herself. She is a real postive, smart, great actress and even if she does reveal her sexuality it isn't in a negative way at all she also doesnt do it for attention or just because its part of her career. When she did "pretty women" people loved that movie and didn't think anything negative about it. Most of the parts of her body wasnt really her body they had another actress to subititute the sexual parts. I think Julia Roberts is a great role model too because she's smart and actually earned her popularity, and fam. Its not like she opened up one of those reality shows and became Famous no! She earned it which i give her my respect for that. Shes a great women, great actress, and great mom.

Sex Scandals can Ruin women Today

When reading this article and watching the video its crazy what technology can do today. A girls whole reputation can be ruined by taking one inappropriate picture. Young ladies are humiliated if these inappropriate pictures get revealed to the public and then she cant face society. There were 2 girls that committed suicide because they didn't want to deal with the humiliation of their nudity pictures. No one knows where these pictures are going and to who, if they are already sent out a Girls whole life can change from friends, teachers, schools, and family. Its crazy! Its better not to send any pictures of yourself in that way you never know where its going to end up. A girl would have to deal with something like that her whole entire life and she cant change it because those photos are already seen by all those people. Its embarrassing i would feel so ashamed of myself. Sexting is dangerous you never know who's going to see those pictures. Someone that sends these pictures will be accused of sex offeneder too so its bad on both parts. That photo also will never ever go away so people can see that photo whenever they want. Girls reputation is really valuable and when something like Sexting is revealed its hard to get over it and deal with her whole life.

Irene Pushed Clare????

In My opinion i do Feel maybe Irene did push Clare due to the fact that Clare was interfering too much with Irene and her life, family, kids, maids, or maybe even Irenes Husband. Irene just couldn't take it so she just had to do something even if was telling Clare Husband (Mr. Bellew) that she is Half African American. There is a good possiblity that Irene did push Clare out, Or Clare pushed herself out because Mr. Bellew knew about her secrets and didn't want to deal with him or Face the Truth. What surprises me though is that Irene was standing up for Mr. Bellew mostly defending him when people were accusing him of pushing Clare out the window, because Irene wasn't too fond of him so why bother defending him?

class struggles are still alive

To me i see class struggling today more then it use to because today class struggles today by who ever has access to information, who ever has the better technology, who has a better phone, or car, or who has more people on Facebook. But seriously if you dont have a cell phone then your part of the morns in todays society. When back in the day it was who has more about money, and servants. Today its if u have a connection or access to internet or information then you a better chance of getting a better job or be noticed. For example people get so famous for posting things on Youtube and make money off of blogs people read or having a reality show they can make a living off of living but having people watch it. If you have the most people on facebook then your the coolest person if you don't then your not. so its not so much about money today its more about technology and connection or access to information because you could do so much with information or technology now a days.

men and women are held to different standards

In my opinion women are held to different standards then men because women have a "role"in society i think they play. Most people think women are soft spoken, quiet, cute, pretty, innocent, and men are more macho, loud, dirty, etc. we live in a world of double standards and its also tradtion men are known to be the providers and go out to hunt and do what they do (anything) and women stay home and keep a up with the household. The reason why women are called "sluts" when they sleep around even though men do it too is because women have the POWER of creation GIVING LIFE and suppose to take care or babies. Usually men make the rules up that's why there are these standards, for example in Religion its always Adam and Eve not Eve and Adam. Women are a step down then men because men make these rules up its prejudice against women people that set these standards are men. If women set standards it probably would be the other way around. In my Opinion the word "slut" isnt as common as it use to be i think its fading because really what is a slut? No body can put a definition to that word everyone has a different opinion on that. In other countrys of the world girls are suppose to be virgins before getting married and if she wasnt she would be killed or shamful. Still happens today which is ridiculous because they supoosalbly say if she doesntBLEED then shes not a virgin And her reputation is ruined she is a shame. Howeverrrr Men its acceptable of them to go out and sleep around before marriage or when their married. Its so not fair and it pisses me off i see this in my culture so much and i know it happens in other cultures but mostly in In Islam!! Ugh! I want Islamic women to be on the same level as men I honestly never see this happening. Hopefully one day it will! :)

ANYthing!!

This Blog is about anything i want to talk about. Hmm Im so Glad i have off of work today i'm free to do so much errands and homework today. I still need to Clean my apartment. I hope it doesn't snow too much tonight. I read those poems about those women that was pretty sad poems. Women go through that all the time all around the world we just hear about it as often. Women go through so much in this world. We should be more appreciated. Life is too short people should enjoy their life to the fullest always stay positive and never let anyone put you down. :)

role Of women in American Culture!

I feel that the role of a women in America is always improving because now a days women have more of a responsibility then before when men were more involved. For example women can have any occupation they desire. However in other countries women are not or its looked down upon if they choice something out of the ordinary. I heard this story about a country in the middle east about this women starting to drive a Taxi as an occupation and people were shocked by these and put her on the media there. This women just needs a job maybe needs to make some money and Taxi industry were probably hiring so they were bashing her about this so she decided to quit her job because she wasnt going to take the harsh judgment. This women wasnt doing anything wrong she was working like any of person out there. She was getting cristism from her community and they didn't like the fact that a women can drive a Taxi it was bizarre to them and they did not approve it. its a shame to see this kind of mentality still go on.
When other women from different countries see America and how American women are able to do whatever they deisre to do as an occupation to me that's inspiring to them. For example Hilary Clinton its a inspiration for women in other countries in my opinion. She was running for president. I feel that women in America are playing a great Role we are strong, hardworking and i see most women in America not relying men for everything.
